China AA Broiler: Multi-week rally ends with sharp price dip (week ended Feb 1, 2021)

 
 

AA broiler market ended the multi-week rally, which sent price up by 19%, amid softened demand due to the worsening pandemic situation in China. Slaughterhouses limited purchases, hence exerting pressure on the market while the release volumes of contract farming expanded.

 

Average AA broiler price plunged 8.9% to RMB8.82/kg.

 

Prices of AA broiler are seen soft due to subdued demand for chicken and production cuts of slaughterhouses nearing the Chinese New Year. Moreover, farmers will be eager to clear inventories knowing that prices would be soft during February.

 

Meanwhile, with supplies tight prices of AA chick are seen strong.
