Russian watchdog: China detects coronavirus traces on poultry packaging from Russia

Russia's state-run food safety watchdog, Rosselkhoznadzor, said China's General Administration of Customs had confirmed COVID-19 coronavirus traces on poultry packaging from companies in three separate regions in Russia, all part of the Cherkizovo brand, Reuters reported.

Rosselkhoznadzor said the import declarations into China for Cherkizovo products will be suspended temporarily for four weeks from February 3, 2021, according to Chinese law.

The state-run watchdog said it will conduct its own investigations into the matter.
