Minh Phu Seafood Corporation's 2012 seafood exports up 0.3%

 

 
 

In 2012, Vietnamese company, Minh Phu Seafood Corp.'s seafood exports reached more than US$6.13 billion, up 0.3% from 2011, with the top 10 exporters contributing US$1.23 billion in national export value.

 

Minh Phu remained the leading exporter with US$357.2 million from shrimp exports, taking up 5.86% of the market. Vinh Hoan Corp ranked the second with nearly US$155 million and 2.54% of sales, and it was also the largest pangasius exporter of Vietnam.

 

In third place was Hung Vuong Corp with 111.9 million and 1.84% of the market share, followed by Quoc Viet Co, Ltd in fourth place at US$107.1 million and 1.76% of sales. Ranking fifth was Stapimex with US$104.2 million and 1.71% of sales, followed by Agifish with US$91.9 million and 1.51% of the market.

 

Anvifish Co fell in seventh place with US$82.8 million and 1.36% of exports, with Cases in eighth place at US$79.9 million and 1.31% of sales. In ninth place was Fimex VN with US$72.2 million and 1.19% of the market, and in 10th place was Yueh Chyang Co with US$68.7 million and 1.13% of seafood exports.

 

Shrimp exports brought in US$2.1 billion in January-November 2012, falling by 4.7% on-year. Pangasius exports reached US$1.6 billion, showing a drop of 2.4% compared to the same period in 2011.

 

Tuna sales hit US$526.5 million, climbing 53.1%, while other fish species (excluding tuna and tra) rose by 23.4% to US$812.4 million in January-November 2012. Mollusk exports fell slightly by 0.6% to US$535.3 million, while overseas sales of crab, swimming crab and other crustaceans reached US$106.3 million, showing growth of 9.3%. The total seafood export figure for January-November 2012 was US$5.6 billion, up 2.1% from January-November 2011.
