Initial payment for 2008-09 Canadian pool B feed barley set
The Canadian Wheat Board late Friday (January 30) announced the initial payment for Pool B feed barley has been established for deliveries from Feb. 1, 2009, to July 31, 2009, during the 2008-09 crop year.
Initial payments represent a portion of the returns farmers can expect from the sale of their grain during the crop year. The payments are guaranteed by the federal government and are revised upward as market conditions allow.
The initial payment for No. 1 Canada Western barley, in Canadian dollars per tonne, is C$103.50, the CWB said.
