Cherkizovo employees awarded for getting Altaisky Broiler to resume operation

Viktor Tomenko, Governor of the Altai Territory, Russia, recently awarded certificates of merit to employees of Cherkizovo Group for their valuable contribution to bringing Altaisky Broiler back to life following an emergency.

Certificates of the Altai Territory government were awarded to Akim Tiunov, Cherkizovo Group's manufacturing director, Maxim Lobov, head of slaughtering and processing at Kurinoe Tsarstvo, Rumil Zinyurov, head of Altaisky Broiler, and Evgeny Prakht, the facility's senior veterinarian.

Cherkizovo's employees were recognised for their efforts in response to a fire at Altaisky Broiler in July 2021. Following debris clean-up, the company started restoring damaged facilities and resumed operations as early as the fall.

The fire did not affect Cherkizovo's plans to develop its poultry cluster in the Altai Territory.

By mid-2023, annual output is expected to expand from the current capacity of 70,000 tonnes to 120,000 tonnes of live-weight poultry.

Cherkizovo is continuing to build growth sites in the Zonalny District of the Altai Territory. The expansion of Altaisky Broiler will create 200 new jobs. The company currently employs 1,700 people in the Altai Territory.
