USSEC appoints new manager of market access

The US Soybean Export Council (USSEC) has recently appointed Ryan Olson as the organisation's manager of Market Access.

In his position, Olson will work on tariff and non-tariff barriers impacting the trade of US soy and soy products.

Olson brings a wealth of experience working on trade issues and building relationships throughout the value-chain. Prior to joining USSEC, he spent four years working on market access programming and trade/regulatory initiatives at the North American Export Grain Association. Here, he worked closely with industry partners and stakeholders to advance international trade priorities and address market access barriers.

"Ryan brings an exceptional background engaging on issues of importance to the grain trade and value-chain members," said Rosalind Leeck, USSEC senior director of market access. "We are thrilled to add Olson to our team. His enthusiasm for the work we do to address market access barriers is palpable.  He is a great addition and will serve our farmers, exporters, allied industry partners and the entire chain very well."

Olson earned a bachelor's in political science from James Madison University and master's in international commerce and policy from George Mason University. He also holds a Certificate of International NGO Management from James Madison University and a certificate from Harvard University Extension School for Management Skills for Emerging Leaders.

Olson's position and responsibilities are effective immediately.
