ADM expands production at German facility

US agri-firm ADM announced expansion plans at its rapeseed crushing facility in Germany.

The production facility in Germany would be converted into a multi-seed crushing facility. The move, which is expected to be complete in April this year would expand ADMs product portfolio offering to food oil customers, the company said.

The company considers the investment as an example of leveraging their core strengths in agricultural processing in order to create value and capitalise on changing consumer demand for food oils, said Mark Zenuk, ADM vice president and managing director-Europe and Asia.

There has been a growth in market for rapeseed, palm oil and soybean. The three could account for 70 percent of the US vegetable oil market alone by 2008, according to analysts Business Communications Company.
