US raises shrimp antidumping tariff for Vietnam
The United States Department of Commerce's (DoC) announced that shrimp dumping tariffs for Vietnam will be 0.17 and 0.25 percent higher than the tariffs announced in November last year. The DoC said the tariffs had to be revised as mistakes had been made in calculating the original figures.
The decision was strongly opposed by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP). Many Vietnamese shrimp exporters, who had expected lower punitive rates, were alarmed at the decision.
