ForFarmers introduces formulated pre-starter piglet feed

ForFarmers has announced the addition of Ultima Start, a newly formulated pre-starter piglet feed to its high performing VIDA piglet feed range.

Along with its many nutritional benefits, Ultima Start is made using high-quality ingredients and is available in pellets, short cut pellets or meal form. It offers total performance in the first stage of a piglet's life but also features a wealth of advantages such as highly digestibility and palatability to maximise early feed intake pre-weaning and ease the transition to solid feed; the utilisation of specially processed starch to aid gut development and maximise weaning weight; providing continuity with sow's milk through a unique milk blend and better feed utilisation.

VIDA's technical and commercial expert on maximising piglet feeding and performance, Emma Slater, said: "Since launching this product, we've had some really good feedback from producers that are feeding this product on farm. We've created this diet in three different forms, allowing for optimal use in different feeding systems and regimes. One of the other benefits with manufacturing this product from Bury, means we are able to reduce some of the additional costs we were encountering through importing the product."

VIDA diets form part of the total feed solution range from ForFarmers. All products in the range are developed as part of an ongoing trial programme in the United Kingdom, and tested in both indoor and outdoor units.
