Pakistan's wheat output to remain below 24 million tonnes in present fiscal year

Pakistan's wheat production is expected to remain below 24 million tonnes in the ongoing fiscal year, according to a report by KASB Securities and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

The report highlighted that the crop's yield per acre was falling every year due to a substantial decline in use of urea and DAP and delayed sowing of the crop.

In the previous fiscal year, the wheat crop's yield per acre reduced by 5% due to 14% on-year decline in urea and 34% decline in DAP consumption and delay in wheat crop sowing.
