Russia removes US beef, poultry plants from its eligible exporter list
One US beef plant and one US poultry plant have been removed by the Russian Federation from its list of eligible exporters.
This is according to an update on USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) website.
Moscow delisted Pilgrim's Pride's Douglas, Ga., plant and Washington Beef's Toppenish, Wash., plant.
The FSIS notice did not explain Russia's actions. The agency could not be reached for comment. The bans on the companies' respective product shipments are effective February 5.
