Philippines to buy wheat, soybean, soymeal in February 1 tender
Philippine feed millers plan to buy soymeal, feed wheat and soybean of optional origin in a tender Feb 1 for shipment in May, an industry official said Monday (Jan 29).
"We haven't finalised the volume that we would buy," said an official of the Philippine Association of Feed Millers Inc, or PAFMI, adding that the volume will be determined the day before the tender.
However, a trader cited PAFMI's tender terms as saying it plans to buy around 25,000 tonnes of soymeal, 20,000 tonnes of feed wheat and 7,000 tonnes of soybean.
"The wheat will probably come from China. In the case of soybean and soymeal, possible sources include US, Brazil and Argentina," the trader said.
