In 2024, Poland has 44 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) reported in pigs and 2,311 in wild boar.

This is 14 more outbreaks compared to 2023.

The outbreaks occurred in seven of 16 provinces, and these includes:

    - Lubelskie (two outbreaks)

    - Warmińsko-Mazurskie (seven outbreaks)

    - Western Pomeranian (six outbreaks)

    - Wielkopolskie (23 outbreaks)

    - Mazovian (one outbreak)

    - Pomorskie (two outbreaks)

    - Kujawsko-Pomorskie (three outbreaks)

In 2023, ASF was found in the Lower Silesian province, but none in the Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian provinces.

In wild boar, 2,311 outbreaks were reported. Only three of the 16 provinces remained free of the disease: Łódzkie, Silesian, and Malopolskie.

The largest number of outbreaks in wild boars was found in Pomorskie (494), Wielkopolskie (387), and Zachodniopomorskie (352) provinces. A year earlier, there were slightly more outbreaks at 2,686.
