Hong Kong imposes regional ban on poultry products from Germany and Italy
Hong Kong's Center for Food Safety (CFS) has imposed a regional ban on poultry goods from the District of Prignitz, Brandenburg state in Germany and Ravenna province, Emilia-Romagna region in Italy due to rising H5N8 bird flu cases there, MENAFN reported.
The CFS' Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said the ban was imposed referring to notifications from the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) citing H5N8 bird flu outbreaks in both regions.
The ban covers the import of all poultry meat and related products, including eggs, to protect the Hong Kong public.
