Due to the lack of documentation certifying that it had been tested for Trichinella, Russian inspectors rejected a consignment of pig offal from Sweden.

Rosselkhoznadzor inspectors for Saint Petersburg and Leningrad oblast conducted document control of a consignment of 19 tonnes of frozen pig offal (liver and heart) going through Finland at the border checkpoint of "Torfyanovka" (Vyborg district of Leningrad oblast).

The inspectors found that the veterinary certificate of the exporting country SE 06 002564 dated January 17, 2014, intended to guarantee safety of products from Swedish establishments No 80 and No 90 ("HKScan Sweden AB" group) had no checks confirming testing for Trichinella with negative results.

It was decided to send the consignment of dubious food safety back to the consignor due to violations of the Customs Union's veterinary law requirements.
