Pakistan agrees on meat, poultry exports to Afghanistan
 

 

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) of Pakistan has agreed on the exports of poultry and cattle to Afghanistan on conditional terms that are to be observed by the Pakistan poultry and dairy farm associations.
 
The poultry and dairy farm associations must assure prices of broiler and beef do not exceed PKR0.285 (US$0.0029) per kilogramme and PKR0.27 (US$0.0027) per kilogramme respectively.
 

According to The News, a two-member panel comprising Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Irshad Qaiser has fixed a fine of PKR2 million (US$20,500) on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa branch of the Poultry Association if the fixed maximum rate of poultry is violated.

 

A fine of PKR10 million (US$102,000) has also been imposed on the Dairy Farm Associations of KP and Pakistan should there be a violation of the stipulated price.
