Neogen Corporation has announced that it has entered into an agreement to become the distributor of Chr. Hansen's innovative probiotic feed supplements for the North American swine and poultry markets.
Under the three-year agreement, Neogen is granted the distributorship of the feed supplements BioPlus 2Bw and GalliPro Tect WS designed for water application in the US, Mexico, Caribbean, and Central America.
BioPlus 2Bw and GalliPro Tect are all-natural feed supplements that contain beneficial probiotic bacteria to naturally help improve swine and poultry feed conversion, and increase weight gain.
This adds on to Neogen's comprehensive list of products it offers for the swine and poultry markets, which also includes veterinary instruments, injectables, and its broad line of disinfectants.
The cooperation with Neogen will broaden Chr. Hansen's access to the swine and poultry integrator market in the US, and into Central America and the Caribbean countries, and strong growth in sales are expected over the next three years, said Dr. Bill Braman, vice president of marketing and sales, Animal Health & Nutrition, Chr. Hansen NA.
''We also see other long-term opportunities with Neogen, such as cooperating to develop additional products for the swine and poultry sectors, and in the dairy and beef cattle segments,'' said Braman.
Denmark-based Chr. Hansen is a major distributor of Neogen's line of BetaStar rapid dairy antibiotic tests. The company supplies cultures, probiotics, enzymes and natural colors, which are applied in foods and beverages, dietary supplements, and agricultural products.
Neogen Corporation develops and markets products dedicated to food and animal safety. The company's Animal Safety Division markets a complete line of diagnostics, veterinary instruments, veterinary pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements, disinfectants, and rodenticides.
