China's shrimp producer eyes Japanese market
Saipan SyAqua Aquaculture, shrimp producer from China, is keen on exporting fresh chilled shrimps to Japan, the world's largest importer of seafood.
China Town farm's operations manager Rommel Catalma, said that Saipan SyAqua is thinking about selling shrimp to Japan, Korea, Guam, and even Hawaii.
The company eyes on Japan, as it is the second biggest consumer of shrimp in the world, and only three hours away from China.
In 2007, overall shrimp imports to Japan amounted to US$2.49 billion.
