Iran Shrimp Exports Hit US$23.1 Million
Iran's shrimp exports hit US$23.1 million in the first three quarters of the current Iranian year (From March 21).
"The figure was 23.5 per cent higher than in the similar period last year," Iran Export Promotion Center (IEPC) said.
It further said that in the same period 4,749.7 tons of assortment of shrimps were exported, "which is 1.5 per cent higher than the amount shipped last year."
Spain, Italy, Canada, the US, France, China, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Japan, and Lebanon were countries that imported Iranian shrimp in the said period. "About 90.5 per cent of the exports targets were met in the first three quarters of the year," IEPC stated.
It said factors contributing to higher exports were more government support including increased subsidies to the sector. Customs Administration in a report last week said Iran's non-oil exports over a period of eight months starting on March 21 reached some US$3.986 billion, registering a growth of 19.5 per cent compared to the same period last year.
