Singapore holds prospects for UK beef exports: EBLEX

Singapore provides promising prospects for UK's beef given the demands from the island-state's food service sector, said Susana Morris, the export manager of EBLEX, the beef and lamb division of the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).

"Beef production in the UK is among the most sustainable in the world," Morris explained. "With around 7,000 foodservice outlets in Singapore, there are huge opportunities for the export of high value cuts of quality beef to the sector."

Morris' comments came as EBLEX holds an event with local and international chefs, highlighting the versatility of Quality Standard Beef.

The event was organised with the support of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC).

"(It) gave delegates the chance to find out more about UK beef production through direct contact with key EBLEX staff and UK exporters, as well as highlighting how chefs can make the most of different cuts," Morris said of the event.
