US firm recalls pork for allergen
US-based Water Lilies Food recalled about 77,730 pounds of pork dumpling and won-ton products because of an undeclared allergen (egg whites), according to a report by the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The FSIS discovered the problem in a routine inspection. No illness has been reported though, said the FSIS release.
The products were withdrawn as their labels failed to list egg whites, which are a potential known allergen.
The dumpling and won-ton products were produced between Dec 11, 2006 and Jan 23 this year, and were shipped to distribution centres in New Jersey, US.
The recall got a class I label, the label given in case of high risk to health.
