Brazil's beef exports seen to increase 20% in 2005

Brazil may export 20% more beef this year as demand increases from countries such as China, according to the National Agriculture Confederation. Brazil is the largest beef exporter in the world.

Brazil may export 2.2 million metric tons of beef, worth $3 billion, in 2005, said Paulo Mustefaga, an economist for the confederation. Brazil exported $2.5 billion of beef in 2004.
