Indonesian Shrimp Exports To US Expected To Soar
Indonesia is ready to take advantage of US shrimp dumping allegations against six major suppliers by boosting its shrimp exports to the United States this year.
Indonesian Maritime and Fisheries Minister Rohmin Dahuri said the United States has slapped an import duty of 40 per cent on shrimp imports from China, Thailand, Ecuador, India and Vietnam compared to only 8 per cent on imports from Indonesia.
The United States is the world's largest importer of shrimp after Japan. Japan, however, is the largest market for Indonesian shrimp.
