US' NPPC joins ASF prevention committee formed by Latin American organisations

The United States' National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) had joined a continental committee known as the ASF Prevention Group Latam which was formed by national organisations from 18 Latin American countries.

This committee has since been known as ASF Prevention America as members of the US pork industry joined it.

The joining of the NPPC, an entity that represents the US pork industry, favors continental action in disease prevention, especially African swine fever.

The ASF Prevention America committee has been discussing new actions for its 2022 strategic agenda for disease prevention.

The group now includes 22 organisations from the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the US, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
