Cambodia's aquaculture and freshwater fisheries sector earns US$1.7 billion in 2021

A report from Cambodia's Fisheries Administration showed the country saw more than US$1.713 billion in profits in 2021 from the aquaculture and freshwater fishery industry, Khmer Times reported.

Based on the report, the total yield of the aquaculture and fisheries sector in 2021 was at 856,400 tonnes, with 348,350 tonnes for aquaculture, 383,050 tonnes for freshwater, and 125,000 tonnes for marine.

Cambodia's exports last year reached 3,469 tonnes.

The report also showed there are 516 fishing communities in Cambodia, equivalent to 147,518 or 332,168 people.
