South Korea reports new H5N8 bird flu case, total 72 cases
South Korea confirmed one new case of highly pathogenic H5N8 bird flu at an egg farm in Hwaseong, south off capital Seoul, which brings the total number of bird flu cases in the country to 72, Yonhap News Agency reported.
The government said all poultry within a 3km radius of the farm have been culled as a precautionary measure, with a one week movement restriction for poultry imposed.
South Korea first reported its latest bird flu outbreak in the country in late-November 2020, the first outbreak of the virus in the country in nearly three years.
