China Corn: No signs of rally cooling (week ended Jan 22, 2021)
Tight availability of corn in China continued to push up prices while buyers continued to lift prices to secure supplies. Adding to the fears of a supply crunch, worsening disease situation, which hampered deliveries, prompted buyers to accumulate more than they usually do before the Chinese New Year holidays.
Corn prices averaged RMB2,930/tonne, surging RMB88/tonne or 3.1% compared with the previous week.
