Bird flu outbreak kills thousands of chickens in Taiwan
About 7,000 chickens died of H5N2 bird flu in a chicken farm of Changhua County, Taiwan.
There are some 50,000 chickens on this farm, and the death rate this month is 10 times higher than the average. However, no sick chickens were reportedly sold on the market.
The bird flu epidemic in the farm has been under control, and all staff and animals have been isolated, said Chou-Che Kuo, head of the prevention unit of Changhua County.
