Second round of tests in German pork meat found negative
The results of the second round of dioxin tests in Germany's pork meat are negative, as were the first tests carried out at the beginning of January, Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry said Friday (Jan 21).
"The analyses have shown that all samples were negative for presence of dioxin, but more stringent inspections of imported meat and meat products from Germany are still being applied," said Juraj Kadas from the ministry's press department.
Importers are obliged to report imports of pork from the areas defined as risky in Germany. A more detailed inspection of the required documentation is taking place and samples are taken in some cases.
