Ukraine's vet service bans Italy's pig and pork imports

The State Committee of Veterinary Medicine has banned imports of live pigs (domestic and wild), sperm of pigs and raw pork from Italy.

The committee's press statement said that pig imports from Italy have been banned due to consideration of Italy's epizootic situation regarding the swine vesicular disease.

Imports from Italy of freights controlled by the veterinary service should be performed in line with the veterinary requirements to imports of goods subject to state veterinary and sanitary control and oversight.

Ukrainian News reported that the vet committee allowed pig imports from Spain.
