JBS says China lifted import bans from its two Brazilian meat plants
Major Brazil-based meatpacker JBS SA said China had lifted a ban on imports from its two meat plants imposed late last year over COVID-19 issues, Reuters reported.
In a statement, JBS said all of its 25 meat plants are authorised to sell meat to China following the lifting of the bans.
The banned JBS meat plants were a pork plant in Três Passos and a chicken plant in Passo Fundo, both in Rio Grande do Sul state. Both plants reported a COVID-19 outbreak among workers last year, leading to disrupted production and the suspension from China.
