China facilitates entry of Vietnamese seafood imports

The preferential policy, recently approved by authorities in Yunnan province, China, which aims to foster seafood imports into the province in 2014, has facilitated entry of Vietnamese seafood exporters to China.

Domestic seafood importers will receive RMB0.02 (US$0.003) from Yunnan province for US$1 of seafood products imported by them. Seafood products imported into China by air will be supported RMB600 (US$99) per tonne (in net weight) in freight, reports VASEP.

The province will also fund 70% of total investment capital into projects building wholesale markets and storage centres of seafood products in Chang Shui airport and neighbouring region.

Preferential policy of the province helps Vietnam seafood exporters boost exports to South West region and other regions in China.
