Thailand approves price controls on chicken

Thailand's cabinet has approved a motion to control the prices of five products, including chicken and chicken meat, Pattaya Mail reported.

They said that in order to uphold the fair trade code, prices for chicken and chicken meat must be regulated.

The new policy will take effect after the previous price control policy expires on January 24, 2023

Anucha Burapachaisri, a government spokesperson, said the other products under the price control measure are goods used to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which includes medical face masks; synthesized threads for medical face mask production; hand sanitizers with alcohol; and paper shred and paper for recycling.

The cabinet decision is in accordance with a decision made at a recent central committee meeting on the costs of products and services.
