King Infra and Atomes Group sign MoU to develop antibiotic-free aquaculture in India
India-based aquaculture firm Kings Infra Ventures Ltd and Canada-based Atomes Group have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop and promote antibiotic-free sustainable and traceable aquaculture in India, Fish Information & Services reported.
The agreement between the two companies will make it possible to produce aquaculture goods without the use of antibiotics in India, improving their accessibility and marketability on a global scale.
With the realisation of the health risks posed by antibiotic-resistant bacteria, the removal of antibiotics from the food supply has become a crucial quality requirement across all industrialised markets. In the future, all significant markets will place a high priority on food goods with zero antibiotic residue, including aquaculture products.
According to the MoU, Kings Infra and its subsidiary SISAT360 will gain exclusive rights for Atomes products to be used in the aquaculture sector across India. Kings Infra will also have the authority to choose distributors, agents, or sell to end users directly.
Kings Infra will conduct cooperative technological testing to customise products and packaging to Indian conditions. The Atomes team will offer training and technical assistance to farmers and dealers through seminars and presentations.
