China AA Broiler: Prices rise at a slower pace (week ended Jan 15, 2021)
Demand for chicken products improved, helping slaughterhouses to clear stocks, hence supporting the sales of AA broiler. In anticipation of higher prices with the approaching of Chinese New Year, farmers withheld releases, helping prices to move higher.
Average AA broiler price climbed at a slower pace of 2.2% to RMB9/kg.
AA chick prices dropped significantly to the range of RMB0.90-1.20/chick as chicks that mature after the Chinese New Year were weak in demand.
Low availability, resulting from the 12% broiler population shrink during Q4 2020, will underpin AA broiler prices. Moreover, with feed costs soaring, AA broiler farms, which as incurring losses, will stand firm on prices.
