Denmark's farmers import illegal fertilisers and pesticides from Germany

Two Danish citizens smuggled a total of 15,000 tonnes of fertilisers and 45 tonnes of pesticides from Germany secretly to 160 Danish farmers during 2007-2009.

The farmers breached the Danish environmental regulations as a result of overusing fertilisers and pesticides.

The police are investigating the matter.
