Ukraine meat production up by 30.7 percent in December
                                  

 

Ukrainian December meat production in live weight rose by 30.7 percent or 79,200 tonnes compared with November, to 337,500 tonnes, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Committee.

 

Production of meat by private farms rose by 48.9 percent or 69,600 tonnes in December, compared with November, to 212,000 tonnes.

 

Specialised farms increased meat production by 8.3 percent or 9,600 tonnes to 125,500 tonnes.

 

In December 2008, meat production fell by 5.6 percent or 20,200 tonnes, compared with December 2007.

 

In 2008, the production of meat fell by 1.5 percent or 42,200 tons compared with 2007, to 2,727,700 tons.

 

Meat production in live weight in November rose by 8.1 percent or 19,400 tonnes compared with October, to 258,300 tonnes.

 

In 2007, meat production rose by 8.4 percent compared to 2006, to 2,765,200 tonnes.
