Chambal Fertilisers reports net loss of US$0.24 million in Q3

India's fertiliser company, Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals reported a net loss of INR12.4 million (US$0.24 million) for current fiscal year of 2011-12 ending on third quarter (Dec 31, 2011).

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals had reported a net profit of INR1.07 billion (US$0.02 billion) in the October to December period of the previous fiscal year (2010-11), the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

However, company's net sales rose by 32% to INR17.84 billion (US$0.35 billion) in the third quarter of the current fiscal year as compared to INR13.51 billion (US$0.26 billion) in the same period of the fiscal 2011.

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals, which has two fertiliser manufacturing plants in Kota district of Rajasthan, reported a 39% increase in total expenditure to INR16.65 billion (US$0.33 billion) in the reviewed quarter of fiscal 2012 as against INR11.96 billion (US$0.2 billion) in fiscal 2011.
