Cobb has made history by completing its first shipment to Jordan last month after establishing a strong relationship with Saudi distributor Al-Watania Poultry.
The companies worked together to successfully navigate new logistical challenges and deliver the first Cobb500™ shipment to the country.
"This is a significant step as we continue to bring quality products and expertise to this emerging market," said Pelayo Casanovas, vice president of Cobb-Vantress EMEA and Asia-Pacific. "Supporting the Middle East is a priority for Cobb, and we expect this shipment will be the first of many from Cobb and Al-Watania Poultry into Jordan."
Al-Watania Poultry, one of the leading poultry producers in the Middle East, signed a distributor agreement with Cobb in 2018 for the territories of Saudi Arabia and the surrounding Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries.
Since then, the companies have focused on expanding the daily production of broilers to support Saudi Arabia's initiative to increase local chicken meat production.
According to Cobb, Al-Watania Poultry is reaching new heights with the wide-ranging technical support from the company. Cobb experts have advised on all aspects of production to help Al-Watania Poultry optimise flock performances.
"We are very happy to deliver our high-quality expertise to all of our customers in the region," said Mohammed Chail, business development manager at Cobb. "Al-Watania Poultry is a strong company that customers trust. We look forward to continuing to fulfill the growing demand in this region with premium and affordable products."
Cobb continues to enhance services to customers in the Middle East to help reduce transportation time and provide supply security. Meanwhile, Al-Watania Poultry is investing in quality facilities and personnel to help ensure a reliable, local supply.
"This is a great achievement for Cobb, Al-Watania Poultry and our customers," said Mohammad Hamed Al-Shayea, vice president of production for Al-Watania Poultry. "We are like one family, and we will continue to serve the industry together."
