Subdued demand holds down China methionine prices
Prices of methionine stayed soft during the week ending January 15.
A weak broiler market dampened the confidence of feed producers, who limited output for the sector. Consequently, sales of methionine softened putting a lid on the prices. Traders were willing to negotiate prices on a cases-by-case basis.
For liquid methionine, price quotes were lower at RMB16.80-17/kg.
