Lacklustre demand weakens China lysine market

Lysine prices moved lower during the week ending January 16.

Demand for feed showed little improvement even as hog prices increased prominently lately. Staying cautious, feed producers limited production of feed for the sector. This, in conjunction with plummeting soymeal prices and weak export demand resulting from a strong renminbi, compelled lysine producers to slash prices.

For imported 98.5-percent lysine, transacted prices slid to the range of RMB10.90-11.65/kg.
