Kazakhstan to increase soy acreage
Kazakhstan plans to increase soy sowing areas to 200,000 hectares this year to meet foreign demand.
China plans to buy soy from Kazakhstan, and the country has to increase soy planting to meet this demand, said Agriculture Minister Akhylbek Kurishbaev.
Soy needs irrigated lands, and Kazakhstan has more than 1.3 million hectares of irrigated lands.
Kazakhstan currently cultivates soy on 50,000 hectares.
