Brazil's 2004 Pork Exports Rise 40% To Record US$774 Million
Brazil's 2004 pork exports rose 40 percent compared with 2003 to reach a record $774 million, according to figures out Monday from the Brazilian Pork Packaging and Export Association (Abipecs).
In terms of volume of pork shipments there was a 2.4 percent increase to 507,703 tons.
In December the country's pork export revenue rose 124 percent on the same month in 2003 to US$86 million, while volume increased 53 percent to 48,549 tons.
