Egypt's GASC Tenders For 30,000-60,000 Tons Wheat
Egypt's main wheat buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities, or GASC, is tendering for offers to buy 30,000 to 60,000 metric tons of wheat basis free on board for Feb. 16-28 shipment, GASC's general manager, Nomani Nomani, said Wednesday.
Wheat offers of 50,000 to 60,000 tons are being sought for U.S. hard red winter, U.S. soft red winter, U.S. white wheat, French, Australian, Argentine and Canadian wheat as well as 30,000 to 60,000 tons of Russian and Syrian origin.
Offers are due by 1000 GMT Saturday.
GASC last purchased wheat on Dec. 30, taking 345,000 tons of wheat for early February shipment. Of that amount, 175,000 tons was from Argentina, 110,000 tons was U.S. HRW wheat and 60,000 tons French.
