Ukraine's meat production increased by 3.4% to 3.136 million tonnes in 2012.

The State Statistics Service press service informs that in 2011, meat production increased by 3.5% - to 3.02 million tonnes.

In addition, the number of cattle in Ukraine last year increased by 1.8% - up to 4.5039 million heads.

In particular, the number of cows as of January 1, 2013, decreased by 0.8% - up to 2.5607 million. The number of pigs increased by 1.9% - up to 7.5158 million, heads of sheep and goats - by 0.5%, up to 1.7476 million heads, poultry population - by 6.5%, to 213.8539 million.
