Brazil to extend meat pact with Spain
Brazil will sign an extended memorandum of understanding Wednesday on exporting meat to Spain, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Brazilian food safety official Inacio Kroetz will sign an annex to the memorandum in Madrid to create an intergovernmental working group that focuses on animal traceability and identification of livestock, the ministry said.
The memorandum was originally signed by the two countries in 2005.
Brazil exported US$152.3-million worth of meat and poultry to Spain in 2007.
