Jordan's Ministry of Trade and Industry Monday (Jan 15) said it is tendering to buy 100,000 tonnes of feed barley, on a cost and freight basis.

"The first 50,000 tonnes will be for shipment during the second half of February and the second 50,000 tonnes will be for shipment during the first half of March," Muhannad Ghesh, senior importer at the ministry, told Dow Jones Newswires.

The deadline for bids is Jan 31 and the origin is open, Ghesh said.

Jordan last bought barley Dec 21 when it purchased 100,000 tonnes of European Union or Black Sea origin, for shipment during the second half of January and the first half of February.
