Vietnam Ban Poultry Sales in Ho Chi Minh City
With effect from today, Vietnam will ban poultry sales in Ho Chi Minh City, in a bid to stop the spread of deadly bird flu that has killed at least three people and resulted in the deaths of nearly two million chickens.
"We together with the WHO have recommended that," said Anton Rychener, Vietnam representative of the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization. "It's all chickens, dead or alive," he added, referring to the sale ban.
