M&A Securities to underwrite initial IPO of Malaysia's Hock Soon Capital

Hock Soon Capital Bhd, a Malaysia-based poultry farming firm, said on January 7 M&A Securities has agreed to underwrite its initial public offering (IPO) on the Main Market.

Based in Bidor, Perak, Malaysia, Hock Soon is scheduled to list in February 2026, the company said in a statement. Under the agreement, M&A Securities will underwrite the shares set aside for the Malaysian public and the allocation to eligible persons under the ‘pink form'.

The IPO will allow the family-owned and managed company to raise funds to set up a new poultry farm in Teluk Intan, Perak, as part of its growth plans, said executive director Alex Ong Keat Hoe.

Hock Soon mainly operates a poultry farm comprising 33 closed-house chicken coops that can accommodate up to 1.7 million mature hens and over 486,000 pullets. The farm's current egg production capacity is about 1.48 million eggs per day.

Over 95% of its revenue for the financial year ended September 30, 2024 came from eggs, which include its house-brand premium eggs under the Qplus label, as well as unbranded and customer-branded varieties. The bulk of its sales were concentrated in the central and northern regions of Peninsular Malaysia.

The plan is to build 25 chicken coops at the new farm in Teluk Intan, and expand its feed mill and egg grading facilities.

Current shareholders are also cashing out part of their stake via the IPO, including Keat Hoe and his brother Keat Qian who is also an executive director. Their father Ong Boon Leng, who is the managing director, and their mother Lim Suk Gen, an executive director, are also selling their shares.

Following the IPO, the Ong family will hold a 70% stake in Hock Soon via their vehicle Ong Legacy Sdn Bhd which is subject to a six-month moratorium.

M&A Securities is the principal adviser, underwriter, and placement agent for the IPO.
