Azerbaijan expects 2.8 million tonnes of grain output in 2013

The Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry has estimated local grain output to reach 2.7-2.8 million tonnes in 2013, according to Minister Ismet Abasov.

He said that if necessary, grain will be imported.

According to the ministry, around 2.802 million tonnes of grain (annual growth of 14%), of which 1.847 million tonnes were wheat (an increase of 12.6%) were produced in the country during 2012.
